Am I Suffering From Depression Or Will I Bounce Back?

Time passes and we do not get our lives sorted out. That is when the question comes into our minds of whether we are suffering from depression, as by this time we know it is not simply a case of the blues. The fact that at this stage we are asking ourselves, am I suffering from depression, is the surest sign that we are in denial of the truth.


Have thoughts of depression been circling around in your mind and have you been asking yourself am I suffering from depression? Most of us know the symptoms of depression, but we refuse to think that we may be suffering from depression and tell ourselves that this is just another case of having the blues.  We become moody but tell ourselves that we will bounce back again as we have before.

We find reasons to convince ourselves that it is not depression even when there are legitimate reasons to be suffering from depression. It might be a broken relationship or having lost a good job or the death of a loved one. This is when we start to question if we are on the right path for our lives, but we tell ourselves we do not need any depression treatment; we just need to refocus and get our lives back on track and all will be well.  It is never too soon to ask the question, am I suffering from depression?

It is obvious after months that we are suffering from depression but we are not able to admit that we need help.  Instead of giving an honest answer to our question of, am I suffering from depression, we want to handle things on our own.  We feel it is a weakness to admit that we need medication and the help of an expert.

Is It Emotion Or Am I Suffering From Depression? 

Hopefully at this stage concerned family and friends will intervene and help us to answer the question, am I suffering from depression?  Hopefully somebody will tell you that you need help and should join a depression support group.  You may still be trying to answer your question, am I suffering from depression, but all those around you can see the truth and very clearly. This is the time to stop being stubborn and stop asking the same question over and over again.  Am I suffering from depression should immediately change to yes I am suffering from depression.

It is time to stop delaying the answer to am I suffering from depression?  There is no stigma in having the condition of depression.  It is a medical and not simply an emotional problem. You are most certainly prolonging your suffering if you do not seek help and just keep asking yourself am I suffering from depression or is it my imagination? The sooner you get help, the sooner you will be able to get back to living a full life.

When you are suffering from depression, you owe it to yourself to start taking care of your body and mind and get the help you need. There is nothing brave about being in denial; it is simply foolish and you deny yourself quality of life.  Ask yourself, very seriously, am I suffering from depression and then, just as seriously, give an honest reply.
