Vitamin C is found in all citrus fruits and some others such as mangoes, currents, strawberries, grapefruit, lemons, limes, oranges, papayas and guavas. A large variety of vegetables is also good sources of Vitamin C and these include colored greens, watercress, spinach, cabbage, sweet as well as hot peppers, Brussels sprouts, broccoli and tomatoes.
Things to look out for that will tell you that you are deficient in Vitamin C are painful joints, tiredness, nosebleeds and frequent infections as well as when you become prone to severe colds.
It is important to be aware and not to go overboard and take huge supplementary dosages of Vitamin C as this can lead to serious health problems causing toxicity that in turn can lead to other health problems.
What you should achieve is a balance as this is when Vitamin C can do its job properly and promote tissue growth and healthy cartilage and collagen. As an antioxidant Vitamin C will help combat cancer, cataracts, allergies, asthma, high cholesterol and many more and this is what your goal should be.
