Eating out with children can be a frustrating experience for any parent. Most will take the easy way out and choose the kid friendly fast food places that offer the processed foods kids like.

Kids can be encouraged through gentle prodding to try most new foods. If you make healthy food interesting, you may find they are more persuaded to eat it. It's the habits they develop now that will follow them into adulthood

When dining out in a fast food restaurant, chose fruits and veggies instead of French fries loaded down with salt and cheese. Trying healthier options will show the child that there is something besides fried foods

Sure we'd all love to eat that double cheese burger, but is it really the best option? Trying a grilled chicken sandwich in its place may be a satisfying alternative for those who are health conscious

It's a nice alternative to take your child to the park for lunch. You can both enjoy the weather and your healthy lunch in the great outdoors. Fresh air and activity will help burn off the calories from lunch too, so it's a good option.

Many restaurants where you sit down to eat have healthier menu options. If your child is rambunctious, go to one where the kids can color on their menu. Or play games with them until the food comes, like, " I see something that starts with the letter A" - and let them have fun trying to guess what it is.

This helps encourage them to eat healthier choices for their meals because they don't develop a reliance on drive-through fare. Try to make compromises on their food choices.

By offering them a choice in what they have to eat, you may find your kids are more prone to making healthy informed dietary choices

Through the power of leading by example, you can show your kids that not only are they expected to eat healthy, but mom and dad also adhere to a healthy diet. And remember, what they don't like today, they may love tomorrow, so keep an open mind.
